Our story

It started in a Berlin cryochamber and a Los Angeles living room.

In 2009 Emilia and Jonas Kuehne MD brought whole body cryotherapy to the United States — first from their home, then La Cienega Blvd, now Woodland Hills and Marina del Rey. Seventeen years later, still the coldest chambers in LA.

Mission

Non-pharmaceutical, preventive healthcare.

Cryohealthcare exists to enhance lives through preventive health — combining expertise with the latest developments in cryogenics to help clients exceed their goals in health, athletic performance and beauty.

Unlike traditional cryosaunas (which we also feature and distribute), our walk-in cryochambers use an indirect method of cooling normal room air to −220°F and below. You are never exposed to gaseous nitrogen.

Emilia and Jonas Kuehne are honored to serve as Board Members of the Arthritis Foundation, which leads the fight for the arthritis community through information, access to care, science and advocacy.

What is cryotherapy?

From the Greek: cryo, cold. Therapy, cure.

Cryotherapy is the local or general use of low temperatures to promote wellness, dating back to ancient civilizations — ice packs on the lower back, ice baths for athletes.

Whole body cryotherapy originated in Japan in 1978; Polish scientists made it the modality it is today, and the Olympic rehabilitation center in Spała, Poland has trained and rehabilitated athletes with it since May 2000.

Whole body cryotherapy supplements health and wellness programs without treating medical disease.
